Starting fresh is one of the things I love best about spring. It's so fulfilling to bring new energy to long-term goals—whether for skin, for health or creativity. But when working with clients in the treatment room, I always recommend starting with the changes that are both the simplest and those that bring us the most joy.

For example, if you’d like to try a cleanse, start several weeks in advance by cutting down on sugar, caffeine or processed foods. That part is simple. But when we can also keep it a bit sweet—stocking up on the special fresh fruit you like best, or booking a relaxing massage, that’s when we’re working in a way that’s holistic. 

So if you are beginning a new skincare routine, ease in, paring away any unnecessary steps in your regime before introducing new ones, taking a few moments to massage in your moisturizer in the morning in a way that feels delightful. 

Beyond the practical, shaping our lives in this way is an act of love. And when we do it all with a gentle smile, holding that feeling of self-care, we tap into a source of beauty that is deeply renewable, too.
