Caring for you, on Mother's Day
I love to talk to the little seedlings in my garden, offering the nurturing encouragement that flows so naturally when I’m in balance and spending unhurried time in a place that I love. But what I’ve noticed is that so often, when I’m aware of it, this softness and kind focus is something that I love to drink in, too. While I’m the one caring for these little plants, or our family’s many animal companions, or those in my family, it also feels incredible to bask in the goodness of that care. It flows and radiates and fills me at the same time it benefits others.
This month, in celebrating Mother’s Day, I’d love to invite us all to open to that universal nurturing energy, letting it flow through us and bathing ourselves and those around us in its sweetness. For some, that might mean a simple gesture of safekeeping, like picking up plastic off the beach, nurturing the Earth’s waters and its lifeforms, or it might come through in doing something extra nice for a neighbor. For others, that beautiful energy might enter through the loving care we bring to our skin. My gentle, creamy Cleansing Milk evokes this energetic vibration with soothing Lavender, while pure essence of Rose is the ultimate expression of divinely feminine love. For me, a soft spritz of Bulgarian Rose Water, applied in the morning with the intention of inviting in nurturing care, makes a beautiful practice of connection.
