The Earth’s gentle rhythms are a constant inspiration for me, and especially in the springtime, when our planet’s glorious, blossoming transformation is so plain to see. The natural energy all around us is charged and alive, awake and abundant, and we can tap into that beautiful force in so many different ways, consciously channeling a sense of restoration into every area of our lives.
For me, at this time of year there is simply nothing like connecting with the earth in a hands-in-the-dirt way. Planting seeds, whether in a window box or in your home garden, is pure inspiration. In our kitchen garden, we’ve just planted our first heirloom tomatoes and sunflowers. The lavender is in full bloom. The lettuces and greens are abundant, and so are the bushy cucumbers—another new trial. It’s my goal to feed our family a little something from the kitchen garden every evening with dinner, whether a salad or using freshly clipped herbs as seasoning.
Of course, because of the season’s leafy-green bounty, bringing bright intention to our diet is never more delicious. Whenever we link our motivation to the very specific energies of the earth, I find that we receive so much support from the natural world in return. Inspiration is all around us—literally. And breathing into this new moment is such a beautiful way to celebrate Earth Day, on April 22.
I’m sending you every best wish for a beautiful Spring!
